Tuck Is Out And Torpey Is In

Jessica Tuck who played Megan Gordon from 1988 to 1992 will not be returning to One Life To Live for the 40th anniversary extravaganza. She was supposed to appear in an upcoming Heaven sequence after Viki Buchanan gets into a car wreck.

However the powers that be will simply replace her with another Megan, Megan the late granddaughter of Viki. She was the stillborn daughter of Jessica Buchanan and Will Rapport. The fun part is she will be played by former Jessica portrayer Erin Torpey who played the role from 1990 until 2003.

It will be fun to see Torpey back albeit temporarily and this is an ingenious way of dealing with Tuck's departure. I haven't been watching One Life To Live for awhile but may just tune back in for this. Other actors returning for the anniversary are Phil Carey (Asa), Mark Derwin (Ben) and Stephen Markle (Mel).

The Heaven storyline won't be the only crazy storyline in the show's future. Tina will be forced by Carlo Hesser to watch her daughter go down the Iguazú Falls, her character was presumed dead after going down those same 'falls in the early 80's. Both John Loprieno will be retuning for this storyline as well.

And Bo and Rex will be struck by lightning and transplanted back in 1968 (the year the show debuted) and find themselves taking over the roles of Asa and a younger Bo.

I don't know if this will be the lamest idea that One Life To Live has had or the most creative. But it definitely has me interested in getting back into the show just to see how it turns out.

Cady McClain Returning To All My Children

Good news, our favorite spitfire from Pigeon Hollow is returning to her old stomping grounds. Bad news she will only be on for one day. Dixie's spirit will return to reunite Tad with their long lost daughter on May 2.

For those of you who don't watch the show, Dixie was an awesome character who first joined the show in 1988. Her character was sensitive, loving, and sassy. And she was a true joy to watch. Despite leaving in 1996, she would return twice more before being "officially" killed off in 2007. It was rumored that Cady was fired from the show after verbally chastising the show for letting go of longtime cast member Julia Barr. Cady fired back via her blog saying no such thing happened. Between her stints on All My Children, McClain also took over the role of Rosanna Cabot on As The World Turns

Her death in my opinion was a slap in the face to all the loyal Dixie fans out there. We spent all this time mourning Dixie and sat through a dull storyline that introduced her sister, Di, whom everyone thought might have been Dixie. When her character finally did return, she was cold and unsympathetic, nothing like the Dixie we'd grown to love over the years. And then she dispatched via poisoned pancakes in the equally dull Satin Stalker storyline.

Just because she appears as angel does not mean she simply can't come back. Lots of characters appeared as ghosts on the soaps only to return alive and well. General Hospital did that twice once with Edward and another time with Robert and Anna. Only time will tell if AMC will come to their senses.

Zuker Returning To Days

Arianne Zuker who played the scheming Nicole Walker will be returning to Days sometimes this March. Zuker joined the soap in 1998 and stayed until 2006 when the actress decided to pursue a movie career.

Arianne's main story lines were being married to Lucas while being in love with Eric, marrying Victor Kiriakis and then attempting to kill him, and finally trying to keep her lover Brady from finding out that his true love Chloe was alive.

Zuker would marry Kyle Lowder the actor who played Brady in 2002, the duo announced their separation in 2007. I hope Days continues to bring back fan favorites to fill the void that the recent spate of firings. Hopefully by bringing back all the fan favorites Days might save itself from the brink of canceling.
