Love is in the air at Planet Express, Kip and Amy are getting married and Fry has found the perfect girlfriend Colleen. However his heart is broken when he learns that she has four other boyfriends whom she also considers her soul mates.
Meanwhile a strange anomaly appears in the sky and Professor Farnsworth reluctantly teams up with his arch nemesis, Dr. Wormstrom to investigate. Bender begins to feel left and neglected by Fry and joins the super mysterious League Of Robots.
When the anomaly turns out to be a beast named Yivo who offers them a perfect existence in his galaxy, the humans must figure out what's more important, perfect happiness or their independence.
Beast with a Billion Backs is a lot better than Bender's Big Score. For one the "villian" is a lot more interesting than a bunch of naked, scammer, aliens. The joke wore thin after awhile. I was thrilled when Kip and Amy married but not thrilled with the lack of Fry/Leela romance. I was ticked off again when the character of Mom was regulated to background status yet again.
The Futurama movies are fun and can get away with a lot more now that they are straight to DVD. I think Fox totally failed it's fans by not realizing the gem that Futurama was. Had they not been too busy pimping mediocre filler and devoted more time to the show, they would not have been disappointed. Fox is well known for ignoring gems though, these are the people who let Family Guy get canceled twice before they got the hint.
Guest voices include David Cross as Yivo and Brittany Murphy as Colleen. Brittany Murphy also does the voice of Luanne on King Of The Hill.
